PLEASE READ THIS PRIOR TO APPLYING TO ADOPT:What do I need to do to adopt a Bulldog? First do your research! English Bulldogs are high maintenance and can be expensive to care for. After you have researched the breed and decided a bulldog is for you click here Get Application for an application. Once that is received you will be called by a volunteer and interviewed at which time we will set up a home visit. The home visit is just to ensure the environment is safe for a dog. Be sure to have locks on fence gates, be prepared to purchase a crate etc. Once the home visit is complete and you are an approved adopter we will try to match a bulldog to you. It is important to note, our dogs are rescues and most come with issues, many require medications for life and it is rare we get young dogs or puppies. Most are adults or Seniors. This process is not quick, our group operates with only volunteers so please be patient. This process could take up to and over a month. In addition, we have adoption fees for each of our dogs. These fees help pay for the vetting of ALL the dogs in the rescue and they are not negotiable! Some of the dogs we get are medical nightmares while others may require little to no medical care. Adoptions fees do not cover all of the expenses so we also have to raise funds and we accept donations as well.

San Antonio Bulldog Rescue will not accept owner surrenders due to aggression with dogs or people. If your dog is aggressive or has behavioral issues contact a trainer. In addition, if you simply do not want the dog anymore because you do not have time for the dog you wil need to rehome the dog yourself. If you would like assistance rehoming your dog we are happy to help. As a rescue we are here to save homeless dogs, whether at a shelter or found as strays and to help dogs that are in need of medical care.

He is easy to train and listens well; he knows sit, stay, come and shake. Jack is house broken and he gets along with kids, dogs and cats. His favorite things to do are to play with the other dogs and snuggle with his people on the couch.  Jack’s adoption fee is $500. Only Texas applicants please.

Chip is a 5 year old English Bulldog that was found as a stray with a horrible tail infection.  He was surrendered to rescue so he could get the medical attention he needs.  He has had his tail amputated, neuter, entropion surgery on both eyes and his ear infections treated.  He is a very chill guy who would love to hang out on the beach on a cool winter day or just sit next to you and watch TV.  Chip is great with other dogs unless a dog starts an argument with him and then he kinda holds a grudge.  He would be great with kids over the age of 10 just due to him being a bit rough when he plays.  Chip is microchipped, UTD on all shots, neutered and his adoption fee is $600.  Only Texas applicants please.

Meet Lola Anne - Adopted

Lola Anne is an owner surrender, she is 2 1/2 years old.  She was living outside in a crate because of house breaking issues.  I am happy to report in just two weeks and lots of love and praise for doing her business she is housebroken and crate trained.  She has no accidents in her crate at all.  She mostly sleeps the day away but is agile enough to probably jump a small building (just kidding) but she can jump pretty high.  She is really sweet, loves to snuggle, give kisses and just hang out with you.  She will be fine with other dogs and kids.  No cats.  She is spayed, current on shots and her adoption fee is $600.  Texas applicants only please.
