San Antonio Bulldog Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization dedicated to rescuing English Bulldogs in San Antonio and Austin. We are comprised of only volunteers that foster and help these sweet angels. Since we are a small rescue we do not adopt out of state, we simply do not have the resources to support out of state adoptions.
What do I need to do to adopt a Bulldog?
What do I need to do to adopt a Bulldog? First do your research! English Bulldogs are high maintenance and can be expensive to care for. After you have researched the breed and decided a bulldog is for you then email us for an application to adopt. Once that is received you will be called by a volunteer and interviewed at which time we will set up a home visit. The home visit is just to ensure the environment is safe for a dog. Be sure to have locks on fence gates, be prepared to purchase a crate etc. Once the home visit is complete and you are an approved adopter we will try to match a bulldog to you. It is important to note, our dogs are rescues and most come with issues, many require medications for life and it is rare we get young dogs or puppies. Most are adults or Seniors. This process is not quick, our group operates with only volunteers so please be patient. This process could take up to and over a month. In addition, we have adoption fees for each of our dogs. These fees help pay for the vetting of ALL the dogs in the rescue. Some of the dogs we get are medical nightmares while others may require little to no medical care. Adoptions fees do not cover all of the expenses so we also have to raise funds and we accept donations as well.

Welcome Baxter to SABR
Baxter is only 2 1/2 years old and has been through so much. First he was boarded at a vet in Kerrville and his owners never returned to pick him up. Then he was rehomed and due to medical issues was surrendered to us. Baxter has a seizure disorder and will likely need meds for his entire life. He is quite possibly the most mellow, laid back, handsome bulldog I have ever been around. He is a bit overweight at a whopping 71 lbs but we will get him to his ideal weight soon. He is neutered, UTD on all shots, HW Negative and will need a home that can be sure to give him his medications as prescribed. His adoption fee is $600.

Hope Lynn has arrived!
This poor baby was left at a kill shelter by her owners who were moving out of state. One of our amazing volunteers rushed over to get her so she would not have to spend the night there. We are still learning about Hope Lynn, but what we know so far is she is 4 years old, very sweet, gentle and gets along well with other dogs. She does not like to be crated and left alone so we are experimenting with leaving her out in the house and last night she did very well and just slept the night away. Hope will need someone who has a fenced in yard that she can run around in. She will be spayed prior to her adoption and she is UTD on shots. Her adoption fee is $600.

It's Springtime at SABR - Meet Daisy
Meet Daisy, SABR's newest "girly-dog". This little lady has had a tough life but as soon as she arrived in San Antonio she blossomed into the sweetest bulldog you can imagine. She has an eye infection that needs to clear up and a few pounds to put on. Then there is the matter of getting spayed. After that she will be looking for her forever home.
Daisy has wonderful manners, walks well on a leash and knows several commands. She gets along with other dogs and children.

It's a big "Mack" attack "ADOPTED"
Meet Mack! This 6 year old boy is one sweet fella, he is such a good boy. He loves to play with toys and hang out with the family. Mack is a victim of the economy; it is difficult to afford these sweet babies when they need medical attention and Mack has a serious staph infection that has caused significant hair loss. His foster mom is smitten with this hunk of love but knows she is going to have to let him go once we find the perfect forever home for him. He is good with kids and other dogs, he is housebroken, neutered and UTD on all shots. Mack's skin condition should be healed within a month or so and once it is under control he can go to his forever home. His adoption fee is $500.
